The Phillipines's top animals are the Phillipine Eagle, The Tamarraw, and The Tarsier are the most special animals in the Phillipines.
Let's first talk about the all famous Phillipine eagle, its scientific name is Pithecophaga jeffery. The Phillipine eagle or what we call it here as "Haribon" it means king of birds.It is our symbol of bravery and honor during the olden times and today here are some pictures of a Phillipine Eagle or "Haribon":
The Phillipine eagle is a large and one of the most endangered animals here in the Phillipines. Scientist believe that there are a few hundreds of them living here in the Phillipines that is why killing them are banned, breaking this law will cost you a lot and will be imprisoned.
They are only spotted in Luzon, Samar, Leyte, and Mindanao. This birds wingspan is estimated over at least 6-7 feet wide and weights about 13-15 pounds. When hunting, it uses its tail to easily maneuver over the sky to catch its elusive pray.
But because of logging and deforestation this giant bird has a hard time catching its prey, it is allso why the Phillipine eagle was almost extinct due to this and also some hot headed tourist and Filipinos kill the and sell them for money.
